This has not been a fun day in the city if you are not a Yankees fan or are baseball indifferent. The Yankees fans are EVERYWHERE, many of them drunk, almost all of them loud, and OMG I just want them to go home.

They were also all over the subway this morning, which made the morning commute extremely annoying. A group of thuggy young fans got on in my neighborhood and were being really loud and obnoxious, and then a young woman just went OFF on them. I really wish I had recorded it. It was MAGNIFICENT. Some choice excerpts:

"You need to shut up. I'm sitting here trying to go to school and don't wanna deal with this bullshit. You need to shut the hell up. Get the fuck out of my face or you're gonna get a heel in it. You think this is cool? You think this is cool? I'm going to SCHOOL. Why aren't you in school, huh? Why aren't you in school? That's not cool."

And then I missed what happened in the interim but she started talking to one guy in particular:

"Don't trust these people [ok she used a different word, ahem] because they're just gonna end you up in jail. You hear me? Don't trust your friends. They end you up in jail. Are you listening to me? I'm SCHOOLING you, little boy. I am giving you KNOWLEDGE. Don't deny knowledge! This is knowledge!"

OMG it was awesome. I did give her an "Amen, sister!" at one point. Hee. Today, she is my hero.

Funniest part? Although they of course all postured and laughed at her as she was yelling, afterward, they were noticeably quieter. Heh.

Just in case anyone who is interested hasn't heard yet, today was Jonathan Jackson's first day back on General Hospital. It was weird, but mostly in a good way. So check it out if you're so inclined.

Oh, also, the cast is going to release an iTunes-only (I think) version of "Last Christmas," which is awesome.
